APRICOT SALSA

By Verna JK

Edited by Josephine A. F. Thomas

Maria, trying to find her missing husband, didn’t realize her Mafia legacy was following her every move.

It was just a few years shy of a new century and Maria was enjoying the best of her life. She thought being married to a Drug Enforcement Agent would protect her from her abusive ex-husband.  But, Stuart had disappeared and she set out to find him.                      Not caring about herself, she didn’t realize she’d let her health deteriorate. Should she forget him and start her life over again with her newly found relationships?

Verna has wanted to write since she was 14 years old when she was inspired by friends who listened to the stories she originated in a high school creative writing English class. She has self published two books and has shared stories for local newspapers and live medias.

She was recently selected for recognition as a local author by the Mid-Continent Public Library of Kansas City for her current novels.

Living in Weston Missouri has given her the opportunity to continue to work, volunteer, and expand on her creative literary talents
